Someone Like You

Ran into miss Kelly at school today, so I enlisted her help with peetchas. The only reason I named this post what I did is because I'm obsessed with the song by Adele. Singing it over and over and over. "You know how the time flies. Only yesterday was the time of our lives." SIGH.

Allez, went thrifting again yesterday. Wishing I could wear it all at once. Buuuut, some rain, some shine, some chill; you just can't do it.

I had an art history exam today. FOUR weeks into the semester without anything to gauge by. No homework, no quizzes, no nothing. I did fine, no problem. I tend to overcompensate when it comes to tests.  I cram everything I can into my brain and end up needing only half of all the invested effort. I like it that way. It makes life easier.

I bought this shirt like a decade ago. Found it today. Mix it up with some vintage Levi denim and the crazy hair and you are bound to get what I call Eureka!

I've been hunting for a pair of vintage shorts just like this. Turns out all I had to do was ask me mum. "I've got a pair just like that in the attic, let me run get them!" Mine, all mine. :)

It Isn't Always Obvious

Wait. Has a week gone by? Where have I been? I haven't been busy so what's happened to me? My apologies, I got lazy. I know this happens to some of you out there every once in a while where nothing inpires you to get writing or take pictures. My excuse tends to be "Ahhh, I don't feel like downloading these picturrrres." or something along those lines.

Well, I didn't get motivated. I dug up some past pictures from last summer because I am excited for it to get here! I love the transition that is spring, but I hate the season in itself because I have the most detestable (spelling) allergies. Blech. Anyways, enjoy the little pieces of my heart.

When It Rains In Wonderland

It was supposed to be warm today... and sunny. So I wore my new Anthropologie dress. :) Remember from February? Last time I wore it, I did so with black tights and all I had was a black cardigan. Bummer. I felt like I was going to a funeral. But today! Ah, today I had a new gray one to lighten it up! I traded the tights for bare legs (even though it was chilly and raining).

I tried on several necklaces with it, but I think it looks its best without any excessive jewelry. It takes away from the delicate embroidery along the bust. So, I feel like I've found the ideal combination for this perfect dress. Do you like?

Alix & Betty

Taking a break from the average, I decided to make a little "ode to" post about my two top inspirations in the fashion world: Alix & Betty. Do you know these two? To be honest, their blogs were the deciding factor in me starting my own, in hopes that someday a smidgen of their fashion sense might rub off on me and I could grow into the fashion icons they have become for sooo many girls.

A little back-to-back of them: they are both tough and feminine at the same time, but I would venture to say Betty's style is a bit more edgy than Alix's. Alix has a certain and beautiful delicacy about her, though. They are both beautiful! And Betty has a new blog coming soon, so we will be saying bye bye to the old Betty and hello to a new one! It would be a dream come true to meet them.

Hats, Gloves, & Pearls

I'm feeling sort of inspired regarding the '30s today. Way back then, there was no such thing as taking a day off from fashion. Or, at least, from our perspective. Women who could afford it were always up on the latest looks. I can't say I own any article of clothing that resembles any of these inspired looks, but, just for fun, here's some photos from the '30s to make us all stop and stare.
